Piotr Wrzecioniarz returned from Silicon Valley

Professor Piotr A. Wrzecioniarz visited the Stanford University, where he established many contacts, including with scientists working on the project of Mars exploration and became familiar with the most advanced robots in the world, that have been landed on this planet and communicated the water occurring there.

He established a collaboration with a group of Stanford Racing Team, which actually built the best autonomous car in the world ("Stanley") - the winner of the DARPA Grand Challenge contest. That car has driven hundreds of thousands of miles without a collision, and the only one accident that occured, was caused by a human.

The Professor also talked with representatives of NASA, from whom he learned that in the richest state of U.S.A (California) currently operates 30 robotic circles in schools. Robotic program is preparing future students of Stanford University to implement projects such as travel to other planets, sending robots beyond our solar system or to colonize planets, on which shall reign the conditions appropriate for humans.

Professor visited Polish group from a training program "Top 500 Innovators", which resides in the U.S.A. We are pleased to announce that a group from Wroclaw won the competition with other groups at Stanford University in design school.

This group consisted of:
- Bartosz Zajączkowski Ph.D. from the Department of Refrigeration and Heat Pumps in Institute of Thermal Engineering and Fluid Mechanics at the Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering, Wroclaw University of Technology;
- Maciej Nicodemus Ph.D., a member of the Institute of Computer Science, Automation and Robotics at the Faculty of Electronics, Wroclaw University of Technology;
- Elizabeth Mrozek M.A., a graduate of the Faculty of Social Sciences University of Wroclaw, Institute of Philosophy;
- Elizabeth Grodzka M.Sc., a PhD student at the Faculty of Architecture Wroclaw University of Technology;
- Luke Liebersbach M.Sc., foreign market development specialist in Enterprise Europe Network, the employee of Wroclaw Centre for Technology Transfer at Wroclaw university of Technology.

Several people from mentioned group are involved in the project Wroclaw Sunrise, whose aim is to combine the areas of science and business. They were also participated in Workshops of Innovation organized in Moravia, near Strzegom within the project "Your knowledge - Your Company", where lectures were led by prof. Wrzecioniarz.
