We would like to invite you to the 7-th International Conference EDIProD’2011. This time the Conference will be held in Wroclaw under the subject:
‘Innovation by Design’.
The Conference is organized by The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Wroclaw University of Technology and by Institute of Inventics. Presentations will be delivered by international experts. The major message of the conference is to present the possibility of practical application of innovation methods and techniques in companies. Theoretical issues will also be addressed. Innovation is one of the most important capacity of the enterprises. We would like to show the importance of an innovative approach to industrial design. Innovations bring positive changes to the company. Ability to design innovative changes is a prerequisite for success in any business activities. A knowledge of the conceptual framework and the principles of innovative design is therefore essential for every manager. It is also important that these methods should be presented on foundation of general set of conceptual bases - to be understood properly and enforced deliberately.
We wish to emphasize the importance of creativity and innovation in the design of competitive products and services. According to our knowledge, EDIProD'2011 will be probably the first conference, in which in comprehensive and coherent way, problems of innovation in the context of design will be widely discussed.
Prominent experts in the field of innovative methods of design and management have been invited to present their views and experiences. This Conference will give a good opportunity to establish contacts and to exchange experiences in this area.
We look forward to your interest and participation in the Conference in both ways: active - by preparing own proposals for presentations, as well as passive, just for the acquisition of knowledge.
Session topics:
The Conference includes issues of:
- methodology, method and tools of innovation processes in designing of competitive products and services;
- integration of the design and innovation;
- problems of management and training in the field of innovation.
Main emphasis is going to be set for practical aspects of the conference topics.

The International Programme Committee is chaired by prof. dr hab. eng. Ryszard Rohatynski (email:
r.rohatynski@wez.uz.zgora.pl). The Committee consist of eminent experts from Poland and abroad, representing the theoretical and practical aspects of design management and innovation.

Information for authors:
- 28th February 2011 – the deadline for sending abstract in English (up to four standard A4 pages of text). Papers will be reviewed by Programme Committee members.
- 15th March 2011 – the information for authors accepting the papers.
- 30th April 2011 – the deadline for sending full papers and for the Conference payment. End of registration of participants.
- Papers will be published in a publishing house.
Additional informations:
- English is the official Conference language.
- The cost of participation is 250€ and includes: meals and additional attractions during the Conference. The cost for accompanying person is 120€. The charges do not include accommodation. The Organizer will provide participants a list of hotels in Wroclaw.
- The payment should be made up to 30th April 2011 to the account:
